Our classes are specifically designed for patients who underwent knee or hip replacements
and want to return to the best level of mobility as possible.
Why did we start the classes?
For the last of couple of years, we noticed an increasing demand for our help by patients following a joint replacement.
The overall acceptance by the surgical community and the population in general that exercises are the most important part of a successful post-op recovery, a fitter population that expect the best outcome following their operation and, unfortunately, a decrease of NHS physiotherapy provision are most probably the main factors for that increase.
So after a few years of repeating the same advice and repeating similar exercises with dozens and dozens of patients, we agreed that we had enough experience to give the same advice and exercises within a group setting, whilst still respecting individual abilities and needs.
The classes are all-inclusive and for all levels of fitness.
Whatever your level of mobility and fitness (pre and post-op) , you are welcome to our classes.
Our main goal here is to make you move, make you stronger and fitter.
Our physios will adapt the exercises to every patients whatever their abilities.
Circuit-type Classes.
The classes run once a week (at the moment) and last just under one hour. The participants follow their way through 8 stations. Each station targets a specific movement or group of muscles. By the end of the session, you will have not only worked your calves, legs, gluts and back muscles but also your balance and agility.
Share your experience.
The big benefit of a class is that the “newer” patients can see that what we do really works just by looking at patients who are most advanced into their rehab. The participants can also, if they wish to, share their experiences and give tips and advice. Believe it or not but most patients have the same issues and worries following a joint replacement operation. And although your physios are there to help, having personal experiences from people wo went through the same issues as yours is even better….
