Hip Impingement is debilitating hip condition giving you pain at either the front or the back of the hip. It is commonly misdiagnosed as osteoarthritis or GTPS. It still most often seen in sporty people in the 30’s to 40’s.
Hip impingement can be resolved with a tailored strengthening exercises and loading management programme.

Sports groin pain is an umbrella term used for any pain in the groin area resulting from a sport activities. Sports Hernia include inguinal hernia, groin muscle strain, pubalgia.
Groin pain can also be caused by hip OA, labral tear or impingement or even some spine issues.
A thorough physiotherapy assessment is essential to get a diagnosis and help establish the right management programme.

Osteitis Pubis is an extremely frustrating condition when the pubis symphysis (the joint between the tow pubis bones) get irritated. It is generally caused by a muscle imbalance or repetitions of microtrauma (such as in football).
It is typically seen in athlete reaching in the second part of their sport career.
Physiotherapy is simply the BEST thing to do to solve an osteitis pubis.
The rehab generally takes several months and all muscle imbalance will need to be addressed before considering return to sports.

Avulsion and stress fracture in the hip area are not uncommon. Avulsion of the ilium are seen in very active teenagers. Femoral or pubis bone stress fractures are seen across the board and often caused by exercise overloading and dietetic mismatch.

During your initial assessment, we will first talk about you, your pain and how it affects your life.
Your therapist will then run a full assessment which will include.
• Your joints: Your range of movement tells us what joints are affected.
• Your muscles: Your muscle strength and agility shows us what muscles are affected and if there are any trapped nerves.
• Your diagnosis: After getting to the root of your pain, you get a diagnosis, we explain to you what’s going on and put together a treatment plan for you.

Your treatment will depend on the severity of your pain and the integrity of the tissue. We have a wide range of treatments available to relieve your neck & shoulder pain.
When you are in acute pain, our pririty is to reduce it. We have a wide range of therapeutic tools which can help you including
• Acupuncture
• Massage
• Ultrasounds
• TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)
• Taping
Because moving is the best way way to you recover, we will also devise on day one an exercise plan for you, specifically targeting your injury or pain.
Once the pain lessens, we will put a specific strengthening exercise programme in place for you to bring you back to your full fitness.
Regular massage and acupuncture might be required during that period to help you keep the symptoms at bay. Finally, you will be discharged with the knowledge and the exercises to prevent the problem from coming back.
Some shoulder problems, such as a frozen shoulder or an impingement, might require cortisone injections. This will help decrease the inflammation and allow you to start the rehabilitation with less discomfort.
In rare cases, often with rotator cuff injuries, we might need an X-ray or MRI to check the extent of the injury and to see if you require an operation.
